Surveyed by Joe Bawden (PDNPA Tree Officer) on 4 Jun 2026 Species: Birch, Downy Age class: Mature Height: 15m DBH: 50cm Birch Tree next to Lower Wiggenstall Farm homestead and carparking area (used to store machinery). Please see map attached. Advice is to fell tree as it will land on expensive farm machinery when it fails. Issue: Large cavity on S side arising from large pruning cut. Probe and mallet confirm decay is localised at present. Similar 2025 and 2026. Active early cracks following reactive helical growth at 1m on opposite side to the cavity 2026. Works Fell the tree ASAP (within 13 weeks of approval).
