The National Park Authority has a legal duty to make available certain details relating to planning applications and regulations allow this information to be made available on the internet.

We routinely publish the following planning documents:

  • Application form
  • Plans and drawings
  • Amended plans
  • Site and block plans
  • Design and access statement
  • Protected species form
  • Heritage statement (justification statement in relation to Listed Building applications)
  • Representation letters (comments, letters of support or objection)
  • Consultation responses
  • Photos
  • Delegated item report
  • Decision notice
  • Other supporting documents and correspondence as applicable*

* Viability Assessments

Members of the public should be able to satisfy themselves whether viability evidence is reasonable and robust so as to maintain confidence in the planning system. Taking this into account we consider that information submitted as part of, and in support of a viability assessment should be treated transparently and available for wider scrutiny.

In submitting information, applicants should do so in the knowledge that this would be available to the public alongside other application documents. We will wherever reasonable, take account of any requests for commercial confidentiality regarding disclosure of financial information.

Commenting on an application

You may submit comments through our website, in writing or by speaking at a meeting. Information on how to comment on an application can be found on the Have Your Say page of our website.

We reserve the right not to publish any comments of an offensive or personal nature. Please ensure that any comments are restricted to the merits of the application.

The material available on the planning search pages does not necessarily represent the full extent of information available for applications. Certain types of application such as those made in respect of a Lawful Development Certificate or Minerals may have additional information which would be available at the Authority offices. You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current planning applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.
