Description

T1. Mature purple Beech, (Fagus sylvatica f. purpurea) located within the front garden of Bridge Cottage Bakewell. Tree has been in steady decline for several years. Entire canopy now in a poor physiological condition of low vigour and vitality. Tree is leaning towards the South West, overhanging the carriageway junction of Coombs Road / Station Road, a high target area for vehicles and pedestrians if tree was to fail. Reason for decline inconclusive. Suggest dismantle to ground level.
