Description

The proposed development comprises the installation of a 3-metre-high acoustic attenuation barrier along the cement works branch railway line at Hope Cement Works, Hope Valley. The barrier will be positioned adjacent to the existing track in the vicinity of Orlecar Cottage and Robin Hill. The structure will be continuous with no gaps and constructed in accordance with the submitted Noise and Vibration Management Plan to mitigate rail-related noise associated with the importation of Alternative Raw Materials (ARM). The barrier will have a minimum surface density of 10kg/m² and will include a clear final panel to avoid loss of sunlight to neighbouring properties. The proposal forms part of the noise mitigation measures required under planning conditions and does not involve any change of use of the land.
